Measurement

In Year 2 we have been learning about standard measurement and developing our measuring skills.

We have been measuring the length and height of large objects using a trundle wheel, a metre ruler and a long tape measure. We measured smaller objects using a small ruler.

Can you remember the unit of measurement we used on our small rulers?

We also measured capacity. We looked at different standard measuring jugs and containers and how much water they could hold. We had to read the measure on the container and say how much water was in it. We then moved onto collecting a certain amount in the jug that we were asked to.

Can you remember what unit of measurement we used on our jugs?

Have a look at our photo's and have a go at the game we were playing in class.

Don't forget you need to type the full name of the unit of measurement into the game.
If you use the capacity game you will need to type in millilitres.
If you use the length game you will needs to type in centimetres.
